What is wrong with these guys? I follow their instructions but I cant log in or get my god damn new password emailed to me and they dont get back to me when I email them for help. These mods are killing me. Anyway, I've been trying to log in for the last couple weeks but finally said screw it and reregistered.
I want to congragulate all you guys for your win on Hopkins. You guys were right and I was wrong. Hopkins was just too damn much for him and DLH just doesnt belong fighting anywhere near 160. I even got worked on the over.
I just got back from NY and had a good time checking out the fight at the Garden. I've been on tour lately, Hopkins vs DLH, Toney vs Booker (had ringside and talked to Mad Max), Trinidad vs Mayorga, and next month Tszyu vs Mitchell in Phoenix.
Alots happened in a couple of weeks. The Jones debacle, Hatton crushes Stewart, and I hear I didnt miss much with the Showtime card this weekend.
I saw and met a ton of guys at the Hopkins/DLH fight. I met Jirov at the fight and then again at the Toney fight. It was funny, if you watched the Toney fight the reason he was in his underwear after the fight is because Jirov and his people riled him up after the post fight interview. At the end of the fight Jirov went right up to where I was sitting which was ringside corner where the fighters entered and exited and waited for Toney to get out of the ring. Security cleared everybody out when Toney was coming out so Jirov and his people waited til he got out of the post fight interview and thats when Toney went off again when Jirov and his people got in his face.
I got in to the DLH private party after the fight and met Lampley, Lederman, Raul Marquez and his partner (the skinny Mexican guy - really good guy), Miguel Cotto, and hung out with Roberto Duran for about 15 minutes. He said the reason he lost the Leonard rematch because he was living like a rockstar up until the rematch. The party was at the huge pool area at the MGM. Great Mexican food and booze all on the house. Friggin dancers dancing on top of the waterfalls. Good time.
I liked the DLH play but I wasnt all over it even though I made alot of arguments for it. I was all over the over and thought that was a pretty solid play and was suprised he got ko'd. But Hopkins did a great job just breaking him down and closing the gap on him. Oscar should probably retire simply because he'll never be great again. He can be decent again but never great at 154 or especially 160. He's a great fighter at 140 and thats where he belongs fighting. He cant take punches at the higher weights and thats why you dont see him letting his hands go and letting those combos fly. Because he's too afraid to get countered and just doesnt feel comfortable fighting at those weights.
I'm pretty suprised Hatton crushed Stewart like he did. I'd like to take a look at that fight.
I do have one good feeling for a fight on the horizon. Byrd is -200 against Mcline and I think Mcline has a really good chance to take him. Mcline has made alot of improvements Byrd has not had alot of sucess against the giants and his last couple of performances havent been that great. I think Mcline is a really live dog. I also think Winky Wright is probably worth a play at -200.
Anyway, I'm thinking of making Mcline a big play and since you guys are smarter than me I'd like to know what you think.
